merdeka? wad merdeka?

is it me or is everyone just not into the Merdeka mood? i dun see the madness of the locals putting up the Jalur Gemilang along the streets, in their gardens, or even their cars! used to see it every year! i suddenly realised that Merdeka day is coming up in less than a week and the air of festivity is just not there! gosh... i find it a bit weird la!

when u think about it, yes, u can come up with so many reason WHY this year's Merdeka day or month is not so 'happening'. Political squabbles among greedy and immoral politicians/hero-wannabes. the MAJOR reason why i think i wud be upset : the cost of living skyrockets, thanks to sudden increase in fuel prices.... Barisan Nasional losing quite a big amount of supporters.... yet they 'tak tahu malu' and their leader whom i think is a laughing stock of the nation, i dun feel he shud be given the title of 'Datuk Seri' as Pak Lah has absolutely NO CONTROL over his lil minion or i doubt he even knows wad he is doing!

just ONE thing i'm currently rejoicing about : YESH! Lee Chung Wei won the silver medal! he still did us proud despite not coming out the overall champion. absolute respect fer the fella la! showed true sportmanship and Malaysian spirit! =) rawk on LCW!

still makes me wonder.....WTF AM I STILL DOING HERE IN THIS COUNTRY?!

walking shopping eating.dead tired.

walking up and down the brand new hypermall - One Borneo is reallly tiring. heck! its new, huge and i dont know any of the shop locations la! forgive me... i hv a very small memory capacity! hmmph! its the thot that counts right?

but we were on a mission! hehehe! Wilson, Ivy, Regina and i went from one end of the city, to the other end just to hunt for the limited edition Espirit watch and a Samsung handphone charger for his daaaaaaaarling! kekekek... sucha sweetie. after losing lots of valuables, terenz was pretty depressed and refused to sit in his car anymore. so yeah... i guess the fella felt awful. so decided to 'employ' three girls to do the shopping. CHEH~ easy job for us gurls bah~ heheh!

easy but damn tiring la! walk walk walk! finding the handphone charger was the hardest. original is RM99 while the questionable one is...darn cheap! the Espirit watch? gawsh... bargaining is bloody addictive! hehehe! the minute i got the price i wanted... i was soon eye-ing every darn thing to be bargained on! hahahah!

it took the whole afternoon and evening. by the time we finally sat down to hv a decent dinner... it was alredy nine thirty. i lied about the 'decent' dinner... we totally pigged out. we called chicken wings, satay, hokkien mee, lo mee and loads of sugary lemon drinks! hehehe! madness la... so much for wanting to stay fit n healthy!

ahya.... but worth it la~ see Terrenz soooo happy and touched by the ultra-simple card we drew in a matter of minutes in the car and then gave everything to her. awww...

olympic+bbq

playing with marshmellows! lips gone all white too!

out of the blue... with not much reason at all.... a barbecue is organized by Calvan. hahah! it was a surprising event la. asking him wads the reason behind the bbq, guessed d answer? just for frenship. isn't that refreshing? i find it so... curious. ahahaha! how many people wud go thru the trouble of organizing such a thing just for the fun of it and for frenship? not many. honestly, i thot it was so thoughtful and sweet.

got there a bit earlier to help out. wilson n yvon were alredy there dealing with the sausages and crab meat. hehehe... i joined them ... in a matter of minutes.. all was done. yvon left for home while calvan went off to fetch the gurls, i sat at the sofa listening to wilson go on and ooooon about sound systems. hehe! the rest of the guys- kelvin, peyherng, tay, kenny- came and ohmigosh... they were fooling around and got some of the more DECENT acts on photo...

the rest of the night was pretty orite as i hung out with the gurls-terenz, ivy,regina,yvon- taking silly pics and i learnt how to skewer a raw chickenwing. yes... i'm dat sakai. blek! the guys were hilarious and gentlemanly at some parts. hehehe! i'm only referring to... owh nevermind! i like the part where all the guys wud do the cooking and.... the cleaning afterwards! hehehe!

cuz we gurlies got away to watch movie! but... instead we changed our minds halfway, and off to burger king.

Olympic 2008 opening ceremony was worldclass performance la! amazing, fantastic and so blardy well thought! thumbs up and hats off China!

sending cars flying

i now drive with a seat belt, i check my car lights before driving, i made sure the guys at the office check engine stuff like brakes and timing belts.... am i a chicken or just bloody paranoid?!

no lah.... its just that, in the span of a week, i've witnessed four incidents which involved friends and cars.

daddy's new land cruiser looked like Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde. why? the driver side looked pretty while the passenger side was totally smashed. apparently he parked at the side of the road at four in the morning to have a nap. the car slid into the monsoon drain thanks to slippery surface. thank goodness daddy is orite... he was woke up in a shock, and when he tried getting out using his door... too heavy to lift it up... he....went back to sleep. amazing isnt it? he slept till sumone noticed his car and called the towtrucks and all! hahahahahah! and at that time was already seven. daddy was still sleeping. funny fella. and the guy who spotted him thot he was dead, and was panicking! hahahahahah.

last Friday, i accidentally threw Calvan off my HiLux. i think both him and myself were to blame. Ivy and i were trying to scare the four guys that we left the mall without them. knowing one of the guys would worry cuz its his responsibilty to ensure Ivy gets home safely, i drove the car to a diff parking space and we hid ourselves by lying flat down! hehehe! it kinda worked! the guys were talking loudly, noticed that my car wasnt at the parking space that i parked in when i got there and were walking around the carpark. ivy and i were giggling ourselves crazy. but... yeah. cudnt hide for long cuz Wilson recognised my car later on. while Kenny and Kelvin laughed it off, i decided : "okayla~ jokes over, lets get outta here" Calvan and Wilson stood on my driver's side of the car, hands holding on the top of the car as leverage. i was still in hyperhappy mode. i stepped on the accelerator(Wilson jumps off) and upon hearing Calvan shouting my name, i stepped on the brakes. he flew off, hitting my side mirror and then the front of my car, then unto the floor. my hyperhappy mood.. totally gone. panic is in. the embarrassing part? i shouted at the security guard "call an ambulance!" and checked Calvan's neck and head then pulled him up. he's okay but starts laughing.... yeah. butt and back hurts eh? an hour or two later, he mutters : " Wilson and i wanted to shake your car la. " oppzie....

the very next day, as i was passing by the Sabah Medical Centre. i saw a new Range Rover Vogue hit another car just after crossing a roundabout. needless to say, the other car was badly damaged while the big chunk of glamour was only slightly dented and shattered his headlights. o wells... the driver cud hv been unfamiliar with the power of the car huh? *shakes head* heheh! i'm pretty much a noob when it comes to driving so i shudnt be commenting on others eh? hahahah!

last one would be ... why do the elderly still drive?! i've got nuthin against them but rather, wat are their children thinking!? imagine us, total strangers see an elderly driving can make us cringe with worry. get them a driver( employed or relatives la!) or please dun let them drive la.... not trying to be cruel to them but rather its just for their safety la! sad la to see them drive.... dah la.. so slow. >;P

absolutely chummy. hmmph.

being a decent friend is hard enough. i guess i often try to be a GOOD fren far too much. yes, i do have my evil and cold side of me but then again, i'm just being me at the same time. "spread da luv" is abit of my life motto. so yea... i'm cruel but not too bad. i know the limits.

okay... so wad am i blabbing about? pretty obvious though. being a good fren doesnt guarantee you one with the matching dedication and commitment you put into the frenship. with many reasons, i choose to believe there is a simple and logical solution to pretty much every thing in life. same goes with frenship. i was enjoying the simple laughs and fun of a new friendship with other good chums but, it suddenly turns stone cold dead. why ah?

i.could.not.think.of.my.wrong.doing.

after a few days, i decided : okay la~ i'll be the one to say sorry for wadever i cud possibly have done wrong when actually, i JUST CANT THINK OF ANY!

label me naive or stupid, i thot things wud be orite, cuz it didnt. i sed sorry and in my face, was called 'irritating' in mandarin.

like i said, being a good fren is not easy.

sumthing else niggling in my mind is.......
fuel prices are up, everything known to man on the market has also up on their prices. except for air and... nothing else actually. even water and electricity bills are costlier. gosh. wad d eff are people gonna live happily? and think about the average and low income earners?! my opinion---> i think it's the Prime Minister and his ma cai's doing. who cares? they're all multimillionaires! where's d pinch with a less than a ringgit's diff in product prices?

nuff sed

i looked at you and finally knew.
there was no need to pretend
that for you, i would kill
to forever be with in the end.

why cant i just fall out of love? i think, its true. i'm in love with being in love. but its more of the the love-hate thingy. i dont wanna be in love.

clearing my study table and found two boxes full of unworthy/useless paper! past year questions, lecture notes, calculation rough paper and nonsensicalscribblings... i know i should recycle. but the question is... should i recycle with the college or by myself? with the on-going recycle campaign in college held by the Student Welfare Committee - Green Life, is somewhat... dissappointing. being the biggest and more influential club, they shud be setting an example of how to run a successful campaign. instead, i've heard nothing of the campaign! i did not even notice there was a recycling campaign! it just happened that, one day, as i was walking to the multipurpose hall to join frens for a game of table tennis, noticed my frens sitting beside lotsa boxes.

*pointing the boxes*
"you brought those boxes in? for wad?"
"ha? not me la! SWC de! they want recycle wa..."
" hai meh? how come, like, mou teng gor geh?"
"they also dunno doing what la... i come in also like dat liao"

asking those in the club committee, some of them just shyly smile and said that, it wasn't their project. another few will say that they're just following orders and the seniors seem content doing it themselves rather than share the workload with the freshies.

how odd. i would gladly part mith my workload with the juniors in hope of not only, *i admit it! i'm a bit lazy! haha* making it easier for me but also giving the juniors opportunity to learn how a campaign is run. a banner isnt enuff as publicity. one measly A4 sized poster on top of the boxes isn't enuff either. suggesting - word of mouth. enuff said.

basketball amidst the traffic

i'm not really into watching every new movie in the cinema, with more than five tagging along. i prefer going out once or twice a month with just two or three close frens.

maybe the teenage craving of supreme popularity is coming to an end? now, i'd rather relax on the couch at home or at the back of the fourwheel drive at the beach, with a fren or two, laugh and talk or just read a book with my mp3. in class... i'd rather just sit with a laidback friend, rather than to hang out and form a noisy, up to no good, notorious rich/famous clique. i'm tired of keeping up with the gossips and late night out. i'm tired of rebelling and trying to be so strong.

the perks? a happier and simpler me. i feel more relaxed than ever before. ok... i'll quit talking abt my 'then' and 'now' crap.

my first celeb crush? ---> Jason Behr iloveyou!
(had a majormajormajormajorMAJOR crush on this fella even when he was still in Roswell!) omg... the hunk is hot! hahah! the word HUNK alredy means hot fella... i simply had to add the word hot! he's just absolutely yummy! heheh!

the movie D-Wars (dragon wars) sucked big time. it was a horrid horrid blend of east+west, technology and bygone eras, love from the past life... yawn.... snore...vomits... i fell asleep imagine this star-wars looking fella being hit by a car twice and when he's laying down on the road, he mutters: shyt( in the star war roughened voice.) then there was not single DRAGON in sight for the whole one hour and a half... until the last fifteen minutes of the movie. showing a dragon rawring and belching fire before flying off to heaven. disappointing la i tell u. i was whining and screaming in my head to get out of the friggin cinema. i fell asleep while panda kept criticising and poking fun at the movie. hahah!

oh! and i was challenged to dribble a basketball around the traffic-jammed parking lot on the way home. i was car-pooling with frens when we got stuck in the parking lot jam. everyone is rushing home. waited...and waited for the congestion to ease but still! WHY WONT YOU PEOPLE MOVE FASTER?! so kenny and i accepted the challenge and on the count of three... opened the kenari door, and dribbled the basketball as fast as we cud around and as far as we cud then upon waving to unknown drivers, scrambled back into the car. mad... but fun. imma record it next time =)

bum hurts!

oddly enuff. with only TWO SUBJECTS this semester, i am still ... not at peace? i'm still filled with the need to rush... never just sitting still and have a laugh. i'm amazed at those who can just take a day off and enjoy a road trip to the mountains?! unbelievable. or those who take eight to ten days off their tight schedule to join the Borneo Safari! ohmigosh...

actually, thats been bugging me. sumthing my dad said just a a few days ago... "sit back, relax and enjoy the simple things in life." thinking about it... i guess... i, too often aim for the big prize... always forgetting to set aside sum time to relax and just.. ENJOY. my mistake wud be when i was in the committee fer orientation 08. i was stressed out and always taking up more tasks and rushing all around. i forgot that it was sumthing to be enjoyed rather than to be slaved away. maybe... in a way, i was just keeping myself busy. i don wanna think about other depressing stuff. hahah~

now, i'm on sum kinda practical course to be a more relaxed person. i AM trying la! hahah~ according to my coursemates Panda and Dona, i'm always in a panic-mode. " WHERE GOTTTT?! " I screeched in protest. and their reply? " you see? thats wad i mean " argh.. testing my patience ya'all!

i'm deprived of the following :
  • shopping! i dun care if its shoes, underwear or cars! BRING ME! if my schedule permits me to join u :P
  • intellectual debate anything but cartoons, math, games...etc
  • fren-enemy drama either i've changed or i just lost my touch of creating drama?
  • emotional connection in short, i need a reli good fren or a boyfren.
  • any sort of healthy addictions my badminton buddies cant find the right time anymore.. replacements anyone?
hahaha! actually its more of " i miss those stuff" rather than "i'm deprived of"
OH! FYI : tripping OUT of ur car is sooo not funny! my butt hurts like mad!

made of Mcdreamy-nesss

life in college after orientation week and freshies night have left me... somewhat too free. nuthin to rush around, nuthin to worry about, or no reason to be screeching at the mobile phone to the receiving end of the listener. there's NOTHING to do! omg... this is driving me mad!

i was clearing the cupboards and ...by the word - cupboard(s)...yes, i have a rather moderate sized cupboard in my room and a...erm... ceiling to floor kinda closet in the next room for storage of clothes. but.. thats not the point! i counted the amount of stuff i have in there ( considering the others in my sisters wardrobe and in the storeroom?) and goodgolly... i can open a shop to sell all those clothes (second hand, of course)! and i'm betting, i'll have continuous business for at least six months! hahahahahhaahha~

Made of Honor. rocks. hot. sexy. sweet. funny. McDreamy. muahx! Yvonne and i were waiting fer the chance to go watch it, despite the lack of enthusiasm from others, we're surprisingly satisfied. IF ONLY guys like Tom, aka McDreamy can be ordered off a menu! yummy...

i'm trying to be reli patient. i'm trying to be very very positive but... gotta admit. its pretty hard. Christian Fellowship committee meeting was NOT wad i expected. due to the rush, maybe some committees joined due to obligation of being voted or are unable to loosen up and interact with others. thus the meeting went on with only the seniors and ONE junior providing suggestions and stating opinions. and the lack of self esteem? help me! they're scared to even raise their hands up during voting and just shake their heads. i mean, WADS WRONG WIF U PPL?! WHERES D PASSION TO SERVE HIM!? tempted to utter : wimps! but okay... i shall refrain meself from all those noti noti stuff. heh~! i'm still hoping and praying fer the best.

Orientation week + freshies night

* click the picture to view my photo album of freshie night!*

a month before orientation for the new students, mr tsen was already choosing and fussing over who will be in the organizing committee. after much persuasion, i agreed to participate as a MC. thinking that i would just do a small part and get it over with. LIES! ALLL LIES!

i was dragged into piles and piles of paperwork, running around from lecture halls to the staffroom, driving up and down, burning the midnight oil, shop fer hamper stuff ( not the same as shopping la... so not my expertise!) and wrapping hampers! gawsh... when hv u seen or heard me wrap hampers?! have u seen the presents i wrapped?! i'm the most messy and untidy present wrapper in the world! then i'm also given the task of choreographing the freshie king+queen catwalk and the senior performance. * rhythmically bangs head at the wall* wad have i put myself into!?

but surprisingly, i got thru it! with amazing help from gud mates - Yvonne, Fynn, Pey Rong, Zavier and Pey Herng! ahyoo... wad wud i do without u la? hahaha! Yvonne being the biggest help in everything from hampers and the king n queen catwalk plus the most importantly, the senior dance! and Herng! thanks fer helping me with the choreography of the freshie king+queen catwalk. Fynn, for the use of her home and being the coolest hostess! haha! luv ur homey home! and ultra cute+funny peyrong!

orientation week went pretty orite... with all the expected rush and unexpected screw ups --> forgot to test the video sound effects and the difficulty of the games. there was a bit of tension as groups leaders begin to be very competitive with all the competition goin on. group performance was sumwhat a hit... the juniors seem to be so dedicated to attending practice despite the tight schedule of college studies. not bad... reli impressed.

13th - freshies' nite. FINALLY! after the countless hours of meetings and involvement in preparing for this night, its finally here. that morning, went to make sure we had sufficient prizes only to realise we are two short. dangit... went shopping and wrapped 2 hampers(again!) and in the afternoon, went to set my hair in curls. then off to the restaurant to join the other committee members in last minute decorationsof the stage and making sure everything like the lighting and tables are set in place. still dressed casually until the last minute, then we were rushing wearing out formal outfits and gurls doin their makeup. men... well... they dun hv to do much , do they? haha! i wore the dress my gud buddies bought for me on my birthday! a black silk tube dress!

after that, the whole night was a mad chaotic rush. the committee was running all around getting the event to flow smoothly... it worked only to a c
ertain degree. our performance of waltz, chacha and rock n roll as the opening seniour performance was sumwat good. my dancing partner tyler and maradona were reli great... both made it so stressfree. so yea...seniors! we did great! hahah! no self praise here. it was all about having fun... no stress. the juniors group performance were reli encouraging... got to see loads of dedication and some talent.

the afterparty(12am) at mcdonalds was awfully good, after changing location twice! first it was TanaMerah then a famous coffeeshop, both were closed! football match was on telly but we left the rowdy crowd downstairs and occupied the whole of upstairs to ourselves. yak yak yak till nearly three am... sigh... sumthing just wonderful to remember fer a reli long time la.
